on-air talent shows belong elsewhere - there are I suspect much better arrangements to improve the choice of announcers - eg clear voice, some ability to handle a reasonable range of European names, avoidance of instant personal reaction to the piece they have just heard - I'm sure others could add to thisOriginally posted by Caliban View Post -

Crikey. One of the most divisive voices on R3. Her speeds range from 'look out sound-barrier, here I come' to beyond the speed of light and inaudibility, particularly when finishing sentences. And the 'asides'......

Maybe they really are feeling that desperate as to think that anyone just in off the street might be more knowledgeable than one or two of the current presenters.
