Not wanting to pour cold water on this laudable ambition but one does wonder what exactly will be the result if the petition reaches 1,000. Will the UK Government withdraw diplomatic relations with Romania unless the building is saved?
Not sure I entirely agree either with the sentiment raised in the puff that Lipatti is "Romania's greatest cultural icon". I'm not sure I'd even rate him as Romania's greatest pianist.
