    Very pleased that this thread has taken off.

    This is, of course, the time of year for magnolias and what I call cherry blossom. The latter seems to vary from year to year in its depth of pink and I assume that is linked to weather patterns. What I like is the contrast of that pink and the bluebell blue. One thing I have noticed this year is that some of the new blossom on the trees appears to be flattened at the top so that the shape above the trunk is bowl like. Rather as some clouds are not the same as clouds in the 1960s and 1970s, I am not sure why that should be!

      I hear that rowan trees keep witches away. Seems to work. We never saw a witch in my father in law's garden.
