Maybe he wrote something in advance, Eight Songs for an Old Queen maybe... but I wonder which of the three advertised singers would be performing it?

sold out the first print run, and I haven't really started yet.

let me know if you want a sample copy.....its top stuff.....

in fact, I'll do you a good deal in return for an early copy of the Proms programme.

( other titles are available for those of a more republican nature....)

I strongly suspect the same goes for quite a few others as well, Jess ...

Do you suppose she chose them herself?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

This is part of the problem isn't it? (Although god knows what horrors she might come up with if left to her own devices...)

Not sure it would be worth the courier charge: I'll probably only get it a day early!
Release date seems to have moved to Wednesday, according to the Proms mailshot I got earlier this week: the website is due to go live at 2pm. Original information (both Amazon and my local bookshop) said that the guide was available from Thursday 14 April, I think.

                            Allow me:
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

One wonders if she ever enjoyed The Royal Variety Show, or had any choice over the performers/acts?
She deserves credit for enduring that for countless years.
Has attendance now been passed on to younger members of the firm?
