Perhaps AA - III can start the next time we reach the letter A.

So, at anton's suggestion, it's an H we're looking for.

My words were written in 1534, and the tune most associated with them in 1539.
This tune was subject to variations in 1747, and made even more contrapuntal in 1956.
Where do I come from?

Are you sure about the first date? I seem to find 1535 as the year of publication, with writing mostly given as 1534 (with a variant of 1531 in one source).

The chronology of his works I've just looked up gives A ceremony of carols and Hymn to St Cecilia as 1942 compositions, but I'm not aware of the tune being used in either of those works. Happy to be enlightened.

There does indeed seem to be a Balulalow connection, but that was not the association I was looking for.
