I an disappointed that you didn't see the humour, and leapt to the conclusion that I was unhelpfully taking the piss; what in our "communications" on this Forum could have led you to think I was being unpleasant?

You've made me VERY upset with your comments.
I am sorry you are upset as that wasn't my intention. With my neutral hat on, I'd like to congratulate the person who set the question. I thought it was really excellent, especially as it wasn't accompanied by pictures. In my mind, Roslynmuse pops in to get ideas because she is a contestant on Round Britain Quiz and while she probably isn't such a contestant, there is always there a sense of inspiration. I get the Ultravox joke now and obviously I did appreciate it. And it should have been No 1 at the time rather than "Shaddup Ya Face".

At one point, I thought that we had to take the letters of all three parts, jumble them up (excite them) and end up with a rhythmic (then we went percussive) masterpiece, such as Bartok's Music for SPC or Jimmy Mac's Veni Veni (and I couldn't think of anything beginning with U).
Ah, good - thank you very much.

Always surprised me that a Scottish artist would wish to be known as "Midge" - doesn't he want people to have picnics near him?

But, I overreacted - I'd had presumed Lats would have known that I never intend to be unpleasant to him, and just thought he'd see the pun. My apologies to him.

It reminds me of a question I asked many years ago!

Did you know that the reason he is called Midge? He is actually called Jim but when he joined the band there was a Jim already there, so they turned his name round so I suppose really it should be Mij and not Midge.

What V do they have in common?
Just thought it was worth 'bumping' the V!

Are the three named characters composers?

... are they Germanically "Otto" or Italianately eight?

                          [ ... or of course Brazilian : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_(singer) ]

Two are composers, and one is a character; both Ottos are abbreviated forms of their longer names.

I hope the reply to ferney's query answers yours too; but all the Vs are in Italy.

Perhaps 'nearby' would be better as 'in the same country' (viz., Italy, since I've given a clue).

So ... might "Franz" also answer to "Ferencz"? And would he be playing in these waters?

Yes he might, and actually 'nearby' the two Ottos is a fair description after all.
