... no, it's just his dark and hectoring manner.

and Berlioz wrote the Symphony for Alto/Viola solo and orchestra Harold in Italy, which certainly moved the natural thermostat up a notch or twelve.

            Is that all three elements?

And can I take this opportunity - having resisted the very strong temptation to shout this from all the Carol-based Threads on The Choir (not wishing to disturb the universal goodwill and generosity of spirit so characteristic of the Posts there) - to say how WONDERFUL it has been the past two years to have nothing whatsoever to do with any Carol Service. Half a Century, my life has been plagued by the monotonous, dreary things: NO MORE, NEVERMORE - free at last, free at last, Thank GOD, I'm free at last! I've had an especial HATRED of "In the Bleak Midwinter" - it doesn't scan ("Snow-woh-woh on Snow") and it's set in ryddu PALESTINE, for flip's sake!!!!

Two out of three. We need another Harold for "stormy".

That's the full set. I think that means you should offer us an I.

Not until I set IRCAM - see what happens when I sort out a puzzle here.

Not much luck with Christmassyesque I's - so a quickie instead:

An I to see what connects Maurice, Alex, and John.

That is obviously snow - but it isn't "snow on snow" - and it sure as fudge isn't "snow on snow, sno-woa-woaw on snow"! Nor do I see earth hard as iron nor very much water like a stone. And I don't think that that bloke is thinking "Our God, hvncnot hold Him"!

HATE the ryddu thing - HATE it!!!!!! Loathe all of 'em - but this Victorian schmaltz in particular.

AND I had to do it year after year after year, this sickly dirge. Not allowed to do it to a different tune; always had to be the Holst done very, very slowly ... always felt like it must be Easte by the time we finished.

AND bloody parents demanding to know why their tone-deaf brats hadn't been chosen to sing the solo first verse of Once in Royal David's City when at their last school, the Music teacher (ie the one who could play "keyboard") had let them sing Close Every Door to Me at the Summer Concert.
