Oh dear - if subby's having problems, then I've set a bad 'un and extra assistance is definitely required!

      Try -

Britten, Gerhard ... and a misspelling that got us out of Europe in 2003.

Without going back to the original teaser, a quick check on Gerhard showed up what I think is the answer, and explains the 'double' connection, with the Britten being the piece he wrote for the twins Gabriel and Zoltan Jeney.

No time to pursue as I'm off to an end of year school assembly to wish all the Year 6 students I've been working with well, and to say cheerio to the others.
Happy for others to crack on.

          Right then!
Noone else has risen to the challenge (or are you all just being polite?), so here goes.

          G is for Gemini.

Stockhausen: Gemini is a movement in Tierkreis
          Rameau: wrote an opera Gemini
Clayderman: Gemini is a movement in his Zodiacal Symphony
          Britten: Gemini Variations
          Gerhard: Gemini

No idea what happened in 2003, though!

Are we carrying on or taking a break?

Nil points on this one, then?

Are we carrying on or taking a break?
That's hentirely hup to you - but Rameau still needs a little "trimming".

            Otherwise

You forgot Jon Lord in your additional clues but on the face of it I think it a good set!

Maybe it's to do with his horoscope...

Horoscope and natal chart of Jean-Philippe Rameau, born on 1683/09/25: you will find in this page an excerpt of the astrological portrait and the interpration of the planetary dominants.

                          Oops!

In my defence (: not my period), having twigged the answer from the Britten I simply googled 'rameau gemini' and got a hit that was titled 'Ensemble Pygmalion releases a new recording of Rameau's 'Gemini' opera', and that was enough for me, but of course I should have twigged that it referred to Castor and Pollux!

Anyway, here we go. I hope it's not too late in the day to set a new puzzle.

                          St Paul's or Westminster?; G, D, or A; or E, with a voluntary carillon?

Which H have they got in common?

                              Three chaps, actually, Flay.
And, just for you, perhaps an apology, as it's music that you might not be very familiar with (though that's quite an assumption, and perhaps depends on whether or not you have rebelled against how the holy brothers might have influenced you at skool!).

PS: That's a convoluted construction of an apology. Trust all will be clear when the answer is revealed.
PPS: Slip corrected: there's only one holy father; you were subjected to the brothers, I think!

                                Is a helpful hint needed?
It's not really the right time of day, at least for six of these seven pieces of music.
