          ... still lost.

My long-lost cruciverbial skills made me think that the 'litotes toilets' intro wd lead us to things anagrammatic, but an unsatisfactory Isoltte didn't make me very happy.

Is it : "take us away from a memorial, - to another possibility" or "take us away from a 'memorial to another possibility' ... " ??

I wondered if the "proper starter" for CE would be Introit. An anagram of that would be Iron tit
            Pacta sunt servanda !!!

Ah, but "toilets" and "litotes" are both anagrams of "T S Eliot", the Introitus in memoriam of whom was written by Stravinsky (and features a chorus of men's voices).

                  So, here's the reasoning.
                  We do indeed get Introit.
Stravinsky wrote his Introitus, which satisfies the first part of the clue, as ferney has explained.
We take us away and get Introit, which is both the first item of the proper of the mass (hence proper starter) and a regular feature in the listings on the CE thread.

I was hoping that this one was easy enough to draw teamsaint in, but he's probably been on the road all day!

Oh 'eck! I'd never've got it if Flay hadn't mentioned "Introit", so I think he should get the J, hey, Flay? Flay? I know you're here somewhere ...

                        Oh, 'eck.

Pages of solitary delight lead to a shattered night and shivering stars in Abraham's tents. D'you know which J?
