Aaagh! I thought this would be easy!

    Let's start again. Pay attention!

...For this person we must look northwards
...This conundrum has an operatic theme...
...Are we perhaps looking for someone who sang in Siegfried, Hansel and Gretel, and Rosenkavalier? ...Indeed, or will be...
...You are rather too far north. Anyway she wouldn't get a from me!
...My F is somewhat younger... and much closer home

"Somewhat younger" than Brigitte Fassbaender??!! - yes, much yummier* - oh I mean younger

    * as at present to be fair

Looks to me like Fflur Wyn, who has sung two of the roles in the recent past, and is scheduled to sing two of them within the next twelve months with Opera North.

Sadly, Richard Farnes won't be in Leeds for either H&G or Rosenkavalier at Opera North's season next year.

Very, very excited about going to see him conduct Siegfried this coming Saturday, though!

A delightful young lady who was enchanting as the Woodbird in ON's Siegfried in 2013

          Go for it, subby!

For the sake of completeness, she has in the past sung Gretel (in Hansel and Gretel) and Waldvogel in Siegfried. She is scheduled to sing Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier in the Autumn, and Gretel again in the Winter.

Moving on, this G links Tewkesbury, the Cotswolds, and Somerset.

I see that we are now allowing foreign alphabets: ff is a Welsh 'letter', is it not?

Indeed, but I thought cloughie was implying that Brigitte Fassbaender was deceased.

For a second, so did I - but he was responding to my reference to Ferrier, so ...

I like the use of ff, by the way
