OK.
At the risk of incurring our host's wrath if he's been thinking up a corker while out......
A diminutive symphony and a river crossing. Fingers on buzzers please for this A.

I'll append it to keep the pot boiling ....
A father and son Z to link a Penderecki première, Sitkovetsky and some European Virtuosi...
Let's get 'em both solved and then we can see who wants (or Pulcinella and I can decide who should get) the B. If the same person gets Z and A, that won't be difficult !"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Well we have a Z and an A on the table: not beyond the wit of AA'ers, I dare say!

Can't think of any appropriate Zs, but I know that Penderecki's first symphony (or just 'Symphony' as it was then) was commissioned by Perkins of Peterborough and premiered in the cathedral, causing a few raised eyebrows amongst the company bigwigs, I imagine!

I hope Penderecki 1 has plenty of motor rhythms.... ?
For the Z, the presence of Sitkovetsky should be a clue to the right area of music (and hence give you Hope of solving this).

It has a mechanical element to it that might ring a couple of bells for the A.
