Is a hint needed?
The first two parts relate to eponymous (yes, that word again!) characters in operas: specifically to a word (the same word, beginning with q) that appears in the first line of a well-known aria for each character.
Once you've found that word and followed the hint in the question, the word I'm looking for should be obvious.

And it's something the vole does!
