To which you say, Sir Velo, by 'eck that was like drawing teeth!
Well now, everybody, assuming that's the right answer - I shall probably go and shoot myself if it isn't - who gets to set the next question?

          Leaf is the correct answer:

Finzi (orch Ferguson) The Fall of the Leaf
Debussy Preludes Book II Feuilles Mortes (Dead Leaves)
          Berio: Encores: No.4 Leaf

LmcD was first with the correct answer (16:02) to Cloughie's 16:04.

I take it contemporary music is not this forum's forte!

Steady now, I do have a recording of Cathy Berberian singing a Beatles Song, but yes, overall I'm more tuned in to the first half of C20th.

                If I may ....
An 'M' that links a concerto of the 1970s, a film score of the 1990s and a much earlier set of dances.

Malcolm Arnold, although the film score doesn’t come to mind.

Isn't the answer more likely to come from three different Malcolms (of whom Malcolm Arnold will be one)?

Possibly but I’ll see what my fishing trip achieves!

No Malcolms were involved in the compilation of the question, I'm afraid.

Is the film score M the name of the actual film?

                            Since we're asking questions......
Is the early set of dances Terpsichore, which could give us Michael Praetorius?

Are you taking the Michael - in which case. I square up to Berkeley - no Nightingale but an Oboe Concerto!
And Michael Nyman’s ivory tinkling film.

Two Michaels - Praetorius and Nyman - down, one to go (not Berkeley).
