              Be brave, next time!
No need to save your blushes, as we're all aware of your clangers already, and this time you would have been right on track.

                - without Flay's giving me the answer, I'd never've got it! (I knew the "toilets" anagram - I think it was Dylan Thomas [he of Llareggub] who first noticed that "T S Eliot" is very nearly "toilets" spelt backwards. And the Stravinsky is a wonderful, haunting short piece.)

Are we waiting until June for the next answer?

No, I think we are waiting for vinteuil to claim the award.

... I suppose the real question is whether fferney really has on his shelves -

Donald Steven : Pages of Solitary Delights
Alexina Louie : Shattered Night, Shivering Stars
Istvan Anhalt : Tents of Abraham

... are they any good, fferney??

They seem to have been good enuff to win the Canadian Juno Prize

One may judge the Steven for onesself:

Canada's Grand Dame of Song, Maureen Forrester (whose birthday we celebrate today) sings the public premiere performance (6 December 1985) of composer Donald...

... pleasant Music, sounding as if it might have been written before the First World War. The specific works of Louie and Anhalt aren't available on youTube (the Tents of Abraham used to be - with Glenn Gould, no less, amongst the performers) but other pieces are:

                          (sort-of Lutoslawski/Ligeti glittery stuff; enjoyable)

(does nothing to hold my attention this morning)

They seem to have been good enuff to win the Canadian Juno Prize
Indeed they did - given, not (as I had supposed) to pregnant teenagers, but to various composers and performers of all descriptions based in Canada. A curious collection of winners in the "Classical Composition of the Year" section:

... not only does R Murray Schafer appear to have won the award four times, Colin McPhee appears to have won his thirty-five years after he died!

Knonetheless, you have - as on so many occasions - earned your K, vinty

I got nowhere near this one, despite having lived in Canada for 6 years!

... a fête champêtre, dances where maidenhair infusions were drunk, a maid at a mill - which violinist is konnected with these?

                                Interruption with an Introitus alert.

The work features in a choral programme as part of the Philharmonia Stravinsky series, with this concert being broadcast live on R3 on Thursday 2 June.

And as it's half-term week, there's no choir practice for me, so I should be able to listen.

Philharmonia Voices (not the BBC Singers), in case you're wondering.
