What L links Smyth, Hill and Leifs?
Here's a better one:
What other L connects (a) a composer of a grand tarantelle, (b) a bug's man and (c) LaMothe?
It isn't lepidoptera.
Whoever provides an answer to either of the above will be given the M question.
Louis Gottschalk wrote a Grande Tarantelle, Op 67
Loius Pasteur enabled us to have bug-free milk on our breakfast cereal
Louis Lamothe is apparently a French academic artist (never heard of him!)Last edited by Pulcinella; 11-04-16, 11:24. Reason: Loius changed to Louis, though post already quoted!

On 2, Gottschalk is correct but the answer isn't Louis.Last edited by Lat-Literal; 11-04-16, 12:27.

Is the second one Louisiana? Louis M Gottschalk was born in Louisiana, Randy Newman (composer of the score for A Bug's Life) lived there as a child, and Ferdinand Joseph LaMothe (a.k.a. Jelly Roll Morton) was born there and started his career there.

My posting of Ludovic Lamothe (small m) on the listening thread yesterday was a red herring.
