Eh? Oh! Yes ... err ... of course. Ahem (I don't know how I have Deneuve* to say that.)

    So - and coleslaw provided.

    Cali's go next - Gee, I can't wait!

    (* = Mr Lemming's co-star in said film.)

      G thanks

More than one evening in Barcelona with Pandora and Don Quixote

Disclaimer: if this is not solved by about 10pm today, I won't be back online till sometime Sunday. It should be easily googlable
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Yes! But not too much rearrangement in fact. I sort of follow the Penguin Guide order, so alphabetical within genres (orchestral, chamber, instrumental, choral). At least not chronological by composition date of work!

Good for Cali: my Cesar hunt would have led me astray, as I was heading for Franck!

Used Presto's site to confirm suspicion, not Google!
It's Roberto Gerhard, amongst whose compositions are Soirees de Barcelona, Pandora Suite, and Don Quixote!

PS: Pandora is of course a full-length work, and Gerhard, living in Barcelona for a while, will have spent several evenings there, as well as writing his piano pieces!

Here we go: equally straightforward, I hope.

This H shed a tear instead of roasting his own swan, shared an instrument with a springtime William, and premiered a work by another William, though he was not its dedicatee.

              Who was he?

Hard to get past PMD's cooking of a swan stopped by the plods ......

Oh! Does that mean a hint is needed?
The instrument might be worth concentrating on.
And it's not the swan in Carmina Burana!

PS: Not only was this H not the dedicatee of the work by 'another William', he was also not the person it was written for, who initially rejected it but changed his mind later and subsequently performed it.

Is anyone playing, or are we all on holiday?
                    Volunteer work 10--4 for me!
Is another hint needed, or is everyone scared of having to have an eye for an I?

                            Indeed.
                            Because?

                            We await your reasoning.
