Dimitri Tiomkin and Roland Shaw composed music for 'The Great Waltz' (1938 and 1972 respectively). John Addison composed the score for 'The Seven Per Cent Solution', and Anton Karas found fame as the composer of the 'Harry Lime Theme', from 'The Third Man'. 4 films set wholly or partly in Vienna.
Orson Welles delivered his homily on Swiss democracy while riding in the Big Wheel in the Prater amusement park. Other clues referred to famous moments in 'The Third Man'.
(Thankfully hands over the AA baton).

Well, to keep things easy for W I could simply have gone back to the capital of Austria and reset the last one
My W is a very pleasant, liquid word (non-English but should be familiar) that will give you the opening to three composers.
Tip out all their compositions in a big heap, have a rummage and you'll find a golden key, a sad shepherd, a spring storm, an angry devil, a carnival and an idiot.
(And much, much more which I'm hoping, nay expecting, you won't need further listings of)
Names of composers required; their links to the above compositions get bonus points.Last edited by LeMartinPecheur; 15-04-20, 11:04.I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Pulcinella has worked out another such composer (Wein/Vainberg) but has named no works. The six named works are divided two each between my three W-composers.
Rather more work seems needed on the 3rd composer!Last edited by LeMartinPecheur; 15-04-20, 22:10.I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!
