With PIE, very many modern languages spread from Europe to Asia, and several no-longer-spoken ones such as Latin, Ancient Greek and Sanskrit. I picked on Sanskrit because it's usually seen as the closest to PIE. Do doubt that was silly of me.

A lot of academic time is now spent (wasted?) on the issue of whether there was just one proto-language way back, from which all human languages in all periods descended. Something else that came 'Out of Africa' perhaps? The efforts at proving this are generally regarded as, ahem, inconclusive.
What's PIE please (apart from the obvious)?

See #3499, Proto-Indo-European. Try the Wiki link there for more detail.
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Camille Saint Saens, Charles Alkan, Marie-Clair Alain and Jehan Alain : scherzos (or scherzi if you prefer)?

            No, not scherzos, not composers.

              That's a shame!
I was about to throw a spanner in the works by suggesting the Saint-Saens swan, running away for cover, and leaving others to find a connection.

                  I've found 3 French singer-songwriters:
                  Camille Purcell
                  Charles Aznavour
                  Alain Bashung

No but they are all French and linked to classical music.

There's an album called 'Souchon dans l'air' on which Camille sings 'Souchon sous la Pluie', and one of the artistic directors is Ours (alias Charles) whose father is Alain. However, singer-songwriters are composers .....

It involves two stick wavers and joannas!

Sorry, I've run out of ideas for now. I can think of quite a few pianist/conductors but none of them seems to fit in with your 3 names. (Message to other Forumistas: please feel free to join in!).
I hope the weather is as nice down in the South West as it is here in the Far East!

Weather today has been superb, sun, blue sky, hardly a breeze and 19C.
Now then you can crack this - two conductors, a guy who dealt in pianos, who were they and where were they from?
