Camus and the president remains well out of my grasp - in spite of checking members past and present of the Dead Kennedys.

I'm also not fully sure what the significance of Vogtland.

    So, halfway there!

I will do the rest as I was wrong on "Nut Rocker".

Re Der Nussbaum, the writer of the words is Julius Mosen, born in Vogtland and other details as given.

On the first part, the picture H is of Paul Nicholas as Vince in "Just Good Friends".

More recently, I have given you Vince Hill and Vince Cable.........so Vince!!!

              Eh?

As I was saying, Charlie Brown etc. Picture K is of Peppermint Patty in that comic strip (her name is actually written on the picture)...............and the Christmas tree at I denotes Guaraldi's famous "A Charlie Brown Christmas" (as well as eliding with the other tree).

Sorry, Lats, but you added the detail after your original post and it was that to which I was referring. Vince Guaraldi has written a song called "Yesterday Coffee and Doe-Nuts", so it was that to which I offered my tentative reply.

Sorry - I'm lost as to what a picture of a Christmas Tree has to do with Peanuts.

                  This is very famous:

Anyhow, when those soundtracks were made, Guaraldi had been noted for "Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus" (1962):

A production of "Black Orpheus" is at picture E and the film of "Black Orpheus" on which the jazz impressions were partially based was directed in 1959 by French director Marcel Camus (he is shown at picture J). In Barack Obama's "Dreams From My Father" (picture A), he recalled seeing the film of "Black Orpheus" with his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham (picture B) and wanting to leave halfway through it while she was in raptures saying it was one of the best things she had ever seen. This was discussed lengthily by journalists:

Peter Bradshaw: Marcel Camus's 1959 film apparently caused Obama to question his relationship with his white mother. He is being much too tough on it

Re the BBC classical music establishment, it applied bans to all pop parodies of classical music up to but alas not including "Nut Rocker" as I had recalled.

I suppose it could be argued that the broad brush ban applied until it was lifted for that record but I am not going to push it - I got it wrong!

                  Correct version:

A soundtrack from a writer who once recorded impressions on a work by "Camus" which disappointed an American President
A pop record which could easily have been banned by the BBC - ostensibly by its classical music establishment
A vocal work by Robert Schumann.......the words to which for some harsher critics are not worthy of the music he composed?

Given the faux pas with B Bumble and the Stingers, I regret that this puzzle turned out to be more of a Barack on Black Orpheus than a Stanley Ann on Black Orpheus.

But, I was surprised how some aspects - eg the Peanuts character and Der Nussbaum - were not picked up on more easily. It wasn't my intention to be totally oblique.

N for Peanuts, N for Nut Rocker, N for The Walnut Tree.

Thank you to both of you for taking part!

I wouldn't worry about the "banned/not banned" mix-up, Lats: I made a similar error in at least one of my puzzles in the past (I think I had two puzzles so afflicted, in fact ) requiring me to "adjust" the puzzle(s) half-way along.

Okely-dokely, then, and (with luck ) no such mistakes on this one -

An O to connect Delius in old age, perhaps; Tchaikovsky at nearly quarter past six (just before tea, it sounds like); and Charles Ives' pathway.

                          Thank you.....very kind.

You do realise it was Limpsfield church yard to which Beecham shipped in Delius's body one night and not Oxted even though it is the nearest station?

Actually, I tend to think of it as Titsey rather than Limpsfield as that is normally where I am heading.

Anyway, it is a question for other people - I won't hog it.

No burials/cremations involved in this puzzle (except, very tangentially, the Tchaikovsky, thinking about it)

                              Surely not Overture?

The 24h clock suggests that 1812 is nearly 1815, quarter past six, but not sure how this sounds like tea!

(Aside: Not really able to play: far too many boxes left to unpack, though we have done surprisingly well, and have to get used to the new arrangements/room layouts, and order blinds/curtains/cabinets/shelving/fitted wardrobes, etc.
Richer Sounds are due early in the week to advise on stereo placement etc; we think we need another tv despite not being avid viewers.)
