I didn't have to do any digging.
It was that situation where you walk away and think of something else and it suddenly dawns on you.
To be frank, I was a bit surprised that Hovhaness - a name which for some reason I always find difficult to spell - had much time to compose anything other than symphonies!

Where are we??
Lenny B composed music for a 1950 production of "Peter Pan". He was from and/or in Massachusetts.
John Adams from Massachusetts composed a saxophone concerto (as did Alan Hovhaness apparently).
I could well be wrong but I hope I'm right! I wasn't intending to take part in this question - but I did!!!

A bit clunky - and that is not a clue:
What N connects:
A soundtrack from a writer who once recorded impressions on a work by "Camus" which disappointed an American President
A pop record once banned by the BBC - ostensibly by its classical music establishment
A vocal work by Robert Schumann.......the words to which for some harsher critics are not worthy of the music he composed?
(whoops - slightly amended - still early in the morning)Last edited by Lat-Literal; 01-01-17, 09:16.

The soundtrack is 1964-65 and I would call it jazz.
(The impressions by the same writer were in 1962).
The pop record is 1962.
The Schumann work is 1840s.
