No - without planning it, this puzzle turned out to be a Christmas-free zone.

On the basis of ruling that I for Alex isn't I for Iwobi - at least I don't think it is - I am tempted to go for another scattergun approach.

Maurice - would that I derive somehow from Ravel, Ohana, Forster, Chevalier, Gibb?

            Maurice - Ravel

(You're also right in that it isn't "Iwobi" either. Nor any other Jedi knight. )

My starting point for Maurice being Ravel was "Idees" but I ran out of ideas on any Alex and John connections soon afterwards.

A turkey dinner hasn't helped the thinking processes but hopefully establishing that Maurice is Ravel will help others.

That's all right - I've no idee, either.

To help this clue along, I think we can rule out any connection between Ravel and Oxlade-Chamberlain but not necessarily Jensen.

I could, of course, be wrong.

The nearest I can come to a sensible suggestion is ice - Bolero/Fire and Ice, Ice Cold in Alex and possibly John Curry or John Mills - but my instinct tells me I am wrong.

I suppose we could try to tackle the Alex - de Grassi. Shapiro, Patterson, Prior, Harvey, Ferguson (!)?

                            FORGET ALL THINGS SEASONAL! HONEST!

As you've established that Ravel is concerned, you're already nearly there - it's one of his most famous pieces.

(When you get to John, you might find Stingray helpful - but I don't want to be too childish.)

Sorry - I have completely lost the plot.

                              But is Barry Gray relevant?

Well, with Alex, you could just take a Wilde guess.

                                Tangentially, yes.
