its Ferney, its W, there has to be some Wagner involved. Surely rings, olympians etc is a start point?
or too obvious? is the brass a Wagner Tuba maybe?

long drive today, so please ignore if suggestion a bit below par....

It's Ferney, it's W ... there's bound to be a cunning trap laid with a fiendish lure making you think of Wagner ... neither he nor his Tubas are involved!

D'y'know ... I'm tempted to alter the answer in order to let it be thought that I'd thought up this brilliant connection. Alas, no - much more straightforward this Olympian connection.

No Greeks involved - much closer to home. (Unless you live in Greece.)

It's nearly Advent, so we'd better get cracking on solving the latest poser, which seems to have gone into abeyance!

Google throws up Errollyn Wallen as a solution: works include the song "Daedalus" (used as the opening and closing theme for the BBC drama One Night), music for the film Falling ( https://vimeo.com/109870598 ), and Gold Saturday for brass band.

Not quite - no rabbits involved with Ms Wallen, but otherwise the correct answer. I might point out that both frenchie and Lats mentioned Warren last month in the discussions about diversity - Lats even mentioning that she'd written the Music for the opening ceremony of the London Paralympic games (hence "Olympian"), which I thought would be a giveaway. The "from space" reference is to her "collaboration" with the astronaut Steve MacLean whilst he was aboard the Space Shuttle (the WIKI entry suggests that he "co-wrote a song" with her. Her own website suggests something less "involved" - but nonetheless, I think it is correct to suggest that she has produced the first piece that had an extra-terrestrial premiere.

Very Well done, subby - play resumes in time for the Xmas lights (or y/z/a as you please.)

The silence is almost of the deafening kind.
