The thing that came to my mind as a link between radio presenter and 'cellist was Suz/ Natalie Clein ... but as this isn't C, and Natalie isn't called Suzy, I reckon that isn't right ...

I shall bear that in mind.

The "sounds like" bit in the clue - does this mean that the word isn't identical in all three words, but has a similar sound - like "Sara, Sarah, and Tzara", f'rinstance?

          Well spotted.

There is one relevant word that isn't identical when read but it doesn't begin with an S.

I got my R4 comedy-quizes muddled: with the "less than a minute" comment, I've been wondering about Sam(antha)s - lovely and otherwise; but she doesn't keep score for Nicholas Parsons. And you can't really spell that other than with an "S".

Mrs Trellis has been writing to me about it causing a bulge in the mail bag.

She also notes that there is something in her name that could in the beginning be useful.

Anyway, would you like to ask me anything about the cellist?

I know that Mrs Trellis is from "North Wales", but this wouldn't have anything to do with - for example - Llanelli, would it?

                    No Welsh connection.

The cellist was born very close to Wales and the radio presenter was born fairly close to it but that is about it.

"Trel-lis" - "Trel-awny"? (Born in Worcester, which is "fairly close" to Wales.)

                        Yes.

Re the Tyneside "poet", you will need a work by him.

"Trelawn(e)y" might suggest the Song of the Western Men (nothing to do with Clint Eastwood) - any use?
