Thanks! Assumed as much, but nice to know!
Embarrassing for ferney if someone else had got there first, I imagine!

PS: Just realised I was a bit slow on the uptake, as the geliebte had to be taken away.

("Bone" is the only monosyllable available on this offer!)

        To return to doubles:

        Stockhausen, Rameau, Clayderman

Indeed - I don't normally join in when I've just set a puzzle, but felt obliged on this occasion. Wouldn't've got anywhere near without the extra bicycle help - even if I did pedal up completely the wrong street as a result!

          My time will come.

              Same thoughts here, Flay.
All I could find was that Richard Clayderman took his name from his great-grandmother.
Haven't investigated if that's a possible link, but it's certainly got the double letter that ferney's so fond of!

It most shorely is that very same simpering ivory-tickling sentimentalist!

She was called Richard, too?! (Explains a lot when you come to think of it.)

Ooh - I didn't say anything about "double letters".

No: it was to do with pronunciation of the surname!
                  This is from Wiki:

Pagès' name was changed to Richard Clayderman (he adopted his great-grandmother's last name to avoid mispronunciation of his real name outside France), and the single took off, selling 22 million copies in 38 countries.[2] It was called "Ballade pour Adeline".

                  And then.....

So what's this mention of doubles all about?

I can't tell you that without giving the answer away!

Maybe it's Gran Genio. Clayderman played Quel gran genio del mio amico, and Rameau and Stockhausen were both Gran Genios

I refer the respected Forumista to my post #1597:

The GeeGees don't appear in this puzzle.

                            You mean letters....?

Clayderman sent a letter to his mum and loved his letters in the sand. But it doesn't get me to a G

Rameau might have accessed lettres françaises....

No - a "double" is importantly involved.

Letters (other than the initial G in works / movements from works by each of the three named composers) aren't.
