Public libraries. Does anyone borrow CDs from them?

Going back to earlier in this thread, I used to visit the library in Dorking when I lived in Surrey. The CDs stretched all down one very long wall of the room. There were (I think) 5 shelves absolutely stuffed with discs. I found some really obscure things there which I borrowed. This would have been about 22 years ago.
Cambridge central library was good, about 10 years ago and I regularly used to borrow things from there when I lived nearby.
Now, the village I live in doesn't have any CDs in its library at all. York central library (or whatever they call it these days) is shockingly poor. Up until a major refit (= removing all the old shelving and replacing it with modern stuff which is far less interesting and also getting rid of lots of shelves and worst of all (probably) pulping a large collection of oboe music which they had been left in a legacy, I assume) the selection was ok. Now it is utterly poor.Best regards,
Jonathan
