I had to look them up. It seems they were already a thing of the past by the time the title was coined:

Greek play bishops (act. 1810–1840) were identified as such in mid- to late Victorian England in accounts of the earlier nineteenth-century Anglican episcopate; the term indicated the link then supposed to have existed between classical scholarship and promotion to the bench. By the 1880s some looked back to an ‘age of the Greek play bishops’ (The Times, 30 Jan 1885, leader) in which scholarship had sufficed to achieve episcopal office. Earlier references more commonly identified one among several episcopal types. Thus F. C. Arnold in Our Bishops and Deans (1875) distinguished ‘Greek play bishops’ from ‘courtier’, ‘exegesis’, ‘headmaster’, ‘literary’, and ‘political’ prelates; a decade before, in Clergymen of the Church of England (1866, 21), Anthony Trollope's episcopal hopefuls emerged from among ‘the editor of the Greek play … the tutor of the noble pupil … he who could charm the royal ear, [and] the political aspirant’.

In later years, when the non-graduate element of the clergy was increasing, and the Revised Version of the Bible (1881–5) had underlined the relevance of textual scholarship to the church's mission, there could be wistfulness in references to an age when learning and clerical office were intimately associated (for example, The Times, 5 Aug 1898, leader). But more generally the ‘age of the Greek play bishops’ was characterized as one of inadequate—at best somnolent, at worst Erastian and misdirected—episcopal leadership. This reflected the common but inaccurate Victorian (and predominantly Anglo-Catholic) perception that the episcopate of Samuel Wilberforce at Oxford (1845–69) had inaugurated a new era of more professionally qualified bishops taking a higher view of their office and exercising more effective pastoral superintendence...

Second delivery? Around here, the first one is something that time's almost forgotten and, since so many things including special delivery items go astray, Royal Fail has pretty much become a thing that time has forgotten, at least within these four walls...

I'd thought that this was something that time had never actually remembered in the first place, but I suppose that I could be wrong about that (assuming that it's now OK to talk about being wrong here)...

The quarter farthing (1839-1853 & 1868); can anyone imagine today what it might have been like to use a coin of which there were 3,840 to the pound sterling, given that the days of every denomination of coin below 10p are now numbered?
