Thanks, ferney Amazing what can go down in history these days. Shoshidges became a catch-word which caused great hilarity in our family at that time.

Yup, those cruel human beasts who eat chicken, eggs, rump/sirloin steaks, Scotch broth, fish, steal honey from bees and milk from cows, and wear woolies and at least some leather on their shoes.

I was reminded of interference on the TV from the Hoover among other things, but mostly from my electric train set. I had to put some kind of dampener on to reduce the TV static I seem to remember but still got shouts from down in the living room to turn the train off.
