        Speaking of which - my bathroom scales give different readings depending on which direction they're facing: I appear to lose weight if I look towards the window (or gain it if I look towards the towel cupboard).


        I'm sure there's a good pun on "scales in contrary motion" hidden in there somewhere, but I can't make it!)

                              anybody tried weighing a heavy bag on bathroom scales to see if its under the airline 23KG limit.

                                Last year, I finally bought a hand-held luggage scale. Very accurate and user friendly.
