i'll have a houseful of twentysomethings this Xmas.

So I need to weigh up the pros and cons of Jeans box of delights, ( lifespan about 10 minutes) or some big boxes of something that might last through boxing day.

Disgusting is a bit strong. THe caramel ones are rather nice.

Anyway, good pictures from Cals, clearly a man who knows the value of photographic evidence.

Go for Hotel Chocolat, teamsaint, and ration them; they're worth it, and your twentysomethings probably are too. You did get that salary increase after your appraisal, didn't you?

my January pay packet won't come in time for me to fund first rate Xmas Choccies , I'm afraid, Pulcers. ( and any extra is spoken for with Amazon.de )
And I haven't had the letter yet.......

And yes, of course the lovely kiddies are worth it....theoretically.

teamsaint, it's poor practice for an employee to find him/herself in a disciplinary, following an appraisal. Don't accept the contents of that letter, when it arrives - stand up for yourself. Give me a ring if you like, I know people who are good at this sort of thing.

Being on good terms with a few ex boxers is always good policy.

Anyway, back to general ( or specific) Xmas grouchiness........i see sprouts are 39 p a bag in Tesco this week.

Bound to go up next week.

And for folks needing a big supply of cheap lager for neighbours and thirsty rellies, 20 large cans of Fosters, ( I know I know) £10 also in Tescoses.

I paid 40p for one onion in the Co-op this afternoon. Ok, it was bigger than average, but I thought the Co-op were liberal/socialists? Talk about super-normal profit!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
