Slipped on a Banana skin for the first time. I was walking down Guildford High street.

Luckily I didn't then bump into a lamppost, and then fall down an open manhole .

One piece of advice I found which worked for a while was "never let it see Sunday" but it's very intensive and needs to be done continuously. The other problem we have is that we have a border with some similar plants, so it tucks itself in there ready to attack the surroundings. I don't suppose we're going to dig the whole area up for quite a while - which would be another possible solution.

Quite possibly soaking a towel or rag in Roundup, then applying directly to the larger ones might work - rubber gloves or similar essential for that. Use of an old towel - discarded afterwards of course!

Anastasius: I'm not going to pave or concrete over any time soon. Probably the next owner, if we ever get round to selling will do that, but my conscience will be clear.
If you are going to use RoundUp then don't, for Heaven's sake, buy the ready-mixed stuff aka water. We are fortunate living where we do that we can get proper full-strength, agricultural grade RoundUp and dilute it as and when we need it and to what strength.

It's now complete, and equipped for palling or rowing.

Oh, very smart indeed - positively oarsome! Well done, EA.

I wonder if, after researching and posting details of every available recording of The Four Seasons, finishing off building the canoe was a doddle?

It is a beautiful achievement, Alpie (the canoe - although the Vivaldi list was pretty impressive!) one you have every right to feel very proud of

Congratulations EA, a most impressive work of artistic craftmanship. A huge amount of work involved.

Regretfully however, my attention was drawn to your patio and lawn, with some suggestions of grass and weeds between the paving stones - you were obviously busy elsewhere. I mention this because I am currently involved in cleaning up a patio, and preparing the concrete surface for sticking to it artificial grass.

I have cleaned the concrete surface with a jet wash device, but whether the surface is right for application of an adhesive for the grass backing? Does anyone have any experience of this issue?

That response is also a beaut, in an appropriately "Oddball" sort of way!!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

There's something wrong about this picture, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

                          A lack of water, perhaps?

Not seen the pictures before. Lovely bit of work - excellent. Well done.

PS: This grass looks real - not like the fake stuff "stuck on concrete"!
