The home of classical music?

I've written on this topic before but it's worth repeating: the websites for R3 and R3 Unwind are absolutely terrible for newcomers to classical music. If the BBC wants to attract new classical fans, I'm baffled as to why R3 offers a blank face to the world. Radio 3 increasingly apes Classic FM in every aspect apart from its welcoming website, which is surely the avenue that most newcomers will take. The classical music community on Reddit has 2.4m members and regularly has threads started by people who want advice on how to get into classical music. The need is plain. Yet Britain's public broadcaster has forgotten its pedagogical remit and offers not much more than the R3 schedule, a large "Play" button and acres of wasted screen space.

I'm not a newcomer to classical music and that's why I don't use the website. I have the schedules page bookmarked and if I'm lucky it's sufficiently complete and/or accurate to be of use...
As has become the norm now(in my view) websites don't seem to be about providing content that a viewer might find useful or be looking for, but about superficialities - all gloss and no substance - regardless of the function of the organisation involved.
