...but in HM's case our petitions seem to have worked.
Indeed they do, and, of course, it could be that we are simply lucky enough to have a Jeremy Corbyn-style 'inclusive' God who generously 'listens' to the Stephens, Pauls, Maries & Angelas of this world...
OTOH, when it comes to a bit of influence at the Very Top, all of Jeremy's publicised email communicators appear to have had the right sort of parents, determined to give their children the best possible start in life, at least nominally. No secular-sounding Jasons or Scarletts particularly to the fore, it seems.
However, I do desperately worry how God will react when His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales's time comes to accept His Gracious Duty ... or is the seemingly permanent longevity of Her Majesty all part of the Creator's wise and cunning plan to avoid having to make some very tough decisions?

I think that you have this half right. It's not up to God how long QEII survives; that's down to the good healthcare that she can veryt well afford and perhaps also to good luck, good diet and determination. However, as she's had the gig long enough already to make her the longest serving British monarch, it's pretty obvious that, if anyone has a "cunning plan" to keep Charlie off the throne, it's almost certainly QEII herself! After all, as someone ruefully observed some while ago, she would never countenance said gig being performed by a packet of Duchy Unoriginals organic shortbread...
But it was/is in the name of QEII that GONGS are and for long been dispensed (well, over the past 60+ years, that is); with two of these to your credit, what do you say about that?

For goodness sake, ahinton, QEII has been in the knackers yard in Port Rashid since 2009. So God made up His mind about her chances of survival years ago!
God is much more likely to be concerned about the One and Only Queen Elizabeth I of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, to give Her Her correct (if not the erroneously 'official') title.

And you call yourself a 'Scot' ...
Mon Dieu, you do talk a remarkable lot of nonsense! We know that QEII exists and has done for a very long time as UK monarch. God's quite another matter and I've no idea what His concernes, if any, might be in respect of QEII. QEII has not been and is not in any "knacker's yard" anywhere, as her 63-year reign as UK monarch surely demonstrates.
Yes, I call myself a Scot because I am one; whatever other possible legitimate reason could there be for my so doing? When la Sturgeon (caviar emptor?) takes Scotland into a state of "independence", as Alex Salmond and others once said would not happen after the first attempt but which is now about to happen for the second attempt, whatever the success of this attempt I shall remain a Scot because, as I've said, I am one.
In the meantime, I await the razr wire going up not so much along what's left of Hadrian's Wall but around Herefordshire to "protect" it against Gloucerstershire, Worcestershire and east Wales; after all, the risk of immigrants coming in from any one of at least 50 nations to Malvern, Newent and Brecon and being shoved therefrom into Herefordshire is surely too great to contemplate without such razor wiry "protection", n'est-ce pas?
Scotty also rightly points out that the present ma'am (gawdblesser) is the second Queen Elizabeth only of England - for Scotland (and the other colonies) she is Elizabeth I.

Yes, but I'm sure 'Scotty' might also rightly point out that Scotland is the Control Colony, ferney ...
In any case, Elizabeth of England viciously chopped our own puir wee Queen's head off so I think our God must have been asleep at the time and their God then took full advantage.
As for ahinton he seems more 'Franglais' than 'Scottish', judged by some of his posts.
Do those of a republican bent...or not...remember the book The Queen and I by Sue Townsend?
I am not a republican, but I enjoyed that book. Another enjoyable fictional account of the Queen's life is Alan Bennett's The Uncommon Reader. I wonder if she's read either?
