    Amazing !!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

It was an absolute joy, wasn’t it? Most restorative all round.

I'm abroad and wondering if the Open Final will be available on Ch 4 Catchup - does anyone know?

A wonderful, attractive and entertaining match worthy of a final. I was struck by the maturity and grace of both players when speaking at the presentation ceremony. Not losing a set throughout the entire tournament is an astonishing feat.

Did anyone find it difficult to follow the ball on the blue court?

              Especially if you're a qualifier.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

....I found it much easier....yellow ball on Pais clay very difficult for me - without sitting near to screen....

....I thought the match was far better than most Womens finals I have watched in recent years....lots of clean, timed hitting...

Totally agree that she's a nailed-on certainty for the Beeb Spoty, Boilk; but I would have thought there were a lot of people in front of Tom in the line.

There was a time when tennis became quite boring. The men played Serve-and-Volley, three strokes and that was the end of the rally: game Server. The women played baseline, 20+ strokes, increasing the pressure until one of them made a mistake. I think probably Borg changed that with his baseline game: strength, speed around the court and breathtaking accuracy. It's a game that suits men and women and (IMVVVVVVVHO) requires much more skill: anyone can hit a winner from the net position; not so easy from back near the baseline.

I would have thought so too, but somewhat to my surprise, he was apparently the favourite with the bookies before this week.

There’s a tweet of ER thanking all her Chinese fans in flawless Mandarin, her mother’s mother tongue. Her parents must be so proud.

So, she's ethnically half-Chinese! I'd taken her all along to be Romanian, by the name.

Given that he's such an influential personality in Serbia, his behaviour over vaccination has been the height of irresponsibility from the start and has no doubt cost lives. So no, I don't think he deserves anyone's sympathy.
