Deafness, even temporary, is not something to suffer gladly. Musicians might be more concerned.

THis article, from 2014 - https://www.newscientist.com/article...tural-hearing/ gives some possible hope of repair for some forms of damaged hearing. I don't know how the trials have gone - what the results were.

Sounds as though it might be effective in a very restricted range of cases, but miraculous nevertheless.

People with congenital deafness would not be eligible, as the article explains.
