I hope Radio 3 will celebrate the Boulez centenary adequately; after all, he had quite an impact at the BBC and they must have a lot of archive recordings. But seeing the way things are going, I fear it will be just one of his shortest pieces slipped in late at night.

I'm looking forward to hearng the broadcast of that . It will, I think, be the first I've heard of Simon conducting Tippett or Vaughan Williams apart from a Berlin Tallis Fantasia some years ago. He has of course, done quite a bit of Elgar and Britten on disc.Comment
