Don't apologise to me - I'm just the duffer stuck in the middle

I did think the thread title could just about be passed since it could be taken as an, erm, literary discussion …
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Agreed. She has put herself in the slimelight as a representative of Radio 3, and inevitably there will be discussion here. I do not see how she cannot be named in this circumstance.

In shows like Strictly contestants will have to endure criticism (and compliments). That is a choice they have made. In her case it could reflect on R3 positively or negatively.

I have already noted elsewhere on these pages that her legs look OK.

      Now let's see her dance!

Forgive me if I'm wrong on this but did Patricia Hughes and Cormac Rigby et al court publicity in the same way?

I would have thought her endless self puffing made her fair game. Those who live by the sword etc....

Autres temps, autres mœurs. Broadcasting wasn't the media giant it is now and 'mass entertainment' was more serious than now.

If that's true (and I'm not necessarily arguing that it isn't), what price the possible impending demise of the licence fee structure and then that of BBC itself?

As to KD - well, as I suggesetd, she is not alone in the aspects of her professonal conduct as R3 presenter that give rise to chagrin, so I for one am not seeking specifically to single her out in this, even though certain comments that I have made happen to be in a thread whose title involves her name.

OK, sure - but is that the fault of any contributor to this thread and, accordingly, should we all simply ignore that factor and all of its perceived and real outcomes merely in some effort to avoid "naming names"?...

I'm trying to imagine la Hughes and Mr Rigby treading the Strictly boards but I suspect that it is as well that my imagination ain't up to that...

So she is capable of walking. Fine.

Must we? Who really cares? Is it necessary for anyone to be able to assess her credentials in that particular activity (such as they may be, if any) in order to feel more comfortable about her as an R3 presenter? Can't see the connection meself!

              Take her maid...

Yes, FF - please kill the thread (as in "I make thread" close) whenever you feel like it...

I was hoping that the story ended with a permanent return to Classic FM

What "story"'s that, then? One about someone who harmed a kite?

I don't really think this thread has the 'legs' to become a forum 'running topic' so perhaps we could consider the subject closed.

Apologies to all - those who would like it to continue and those who think it's been going on far too long already.
