    Unbelievable?

According to the The Unbelievable Truth R4 quiz show, using headphones (in ear I think) is likely to lead to significantly more bacteria in the ear and to ear infections than not using them.

I also found this page - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-26527266 on a related subject.

So maybe listening to music on headphones is not a good idea after all.

Otoh, not listening to music on head or earphones is probably a much worse idea for one's health, especially on long-distance Virgin trains ... ?

You know too much. You're not Mangerton in disguise, are you?

Not if you play 'music' by Mahler, Elgar, Vaughan Williams or Strauss R. Any of those renders them steriile within a few bars.

It's the release of more ear wax that causes the problem.
Ear wax itself contains more bacteria, but because more ear wax irritates, people tend to rub/scratch their itching ears more regularly. That increases the risks of infection considerably.

                A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!

                It's got rhythm too!

I know this guy, but not this music - first for me.

Had to turn the system down, it'll pierce your brain and kill every rat and mouse within a five mile radius!

The top and bottom shit that's going on from 9 minutes is awesome.

What gives with the clicks? He must know why we ditched vinyl

Msg 7 - no way I'm risking that with headphones right now. I recall a previous recommendation for Ryoji Ikeda's work, and I did listen. I can'r remember enough to know whether I hated it or merely tolerated it, but I do recall a certain level of volum. I think loudspeakers are the way to go, prefereably with a remote and fast acting volume control.

Actually - having quickly sampled this - not with headphones - this particular track is probably not too bad - though I'm not sure I'd want to listen anyway.

What? What? He certainly isn't. As far as I know.

Does this perchance refer to my propensity for travelling by train and listening to music while doing so?

OT, I much prefer my AKG K451 to in-ear devices.
