Timothy West has died at the age of 90, Mrs McD and I saw him play Sir Thomas Beecham on the West End stage. Radio 4 Extra recently broadcast a selection of his letters to his beloved Prue.

Two declared supporters of Friends of Radio 3 back in the day, And indeed, thoughts are with the surviving family members nowIt isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
