As usual (on this biannual occasion) I can't remember whether the forum clock changes automatically or whether I have to do something down below; and if so, what. However, tonight - more precisely, I think, at 1 am clocks around the UK will spring forward eagerly to meet the fragrant spring on Easter morn
Clocks again

I thought it was 2 am. or is that in October when they go back? I hate it (I also hate bank holidays, so I'm a bit grumpy today) . I'd much rather be on GMT all year round, as I keep early hours. We have sixteen clocks in our house , including the old VHS player which is difficult to adjust, and a BAXI boiler which has a little dial which is very difficult to get to exactly the right point.

Well, the forum seems to be on BST without any intervention from me (hope that's the same for everyone; if not I'll have to adjust something somewhere). The UK isn't very big but it does seem to matter where you live: some people would prefer permanent GMT, others BST. Having injured my ribs on Good Friday the two wall clocks which I need to climb a rickety ladder in order to change will remain on GMT until I feel better. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Curiously, when my aunt lived in this house I paid two special visits, once to take down the winter curtains and put up the summer ones, and again to take down the summer curtains and put up the winter ones. I used her same rickety ladder. I only have curtains, and they stay up for years on end.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. I've just checked the settings: there doesn't seem to be any recognition in the forum software of the term 'BST', just GMT with 'daylight saving adjustment' enabled. That's presumably why the note at the bottom of the page states 'All times are GMT'. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any indication on the page as to whether 'daylight saving' is in force, which of course it is at the moment.
