May I suggest a quick canter round the thread?

        For instance on that point:

I imagine that AGgers is rather too busy rearranging his eggs, apples and baskets to be messing around with playlists, and recommends, if you don't mind me saying so.

Or a-downloading of his favourite episodes of Breakfast! But I meant this thread and its early sections, where some answers may appear. I certainly don't advocate being distracted by the robotic suggestions of Apple Music!

Anton - where is your thread about that? Can't find it now, saw it very late and couldn't respond. Is it about the same thing as Wallace is talking about on the Techie thread?

No. Certain label (maybe also artists) don't allow their music to be streamed. So no Hyperion and only one or two ECM recordings.

It's on Qobuz, doesn't seem to be on Apple Music.

Have you used the English search terms in iTunes - "Twilight of the Gods etc". Just a suggestion, I've not searched myself.

You'll find it on Naxos Music Library. Perhaps your local library service provides access? (it also, on a quick search, appears to be on Google Play Music All Access - sorry to mention it, as you are signing up for Apple Music. (Hope its not too inflammatory to mention that on an Apple Music thread)).

One complaint, at least until I have it figured, is that it's not always easy to find out what's available or playing.

Example - in order to check out Reginald Goodall's ENO Ring - see above - I tried "Reginald Goodall" as a search term. Indeed, there does not appear to be a Ring, though there is Parsifal.

I then followed a trail of other recordings which possibly might feature Reginald Goodall, and came to a collection of British Music - Britten, Berkeley, Rubbra. There are a whole lot of pieces in there which are difficult to identify, and of course since I've not heard most of them, listening doesn't help either. At present I'm listening to a piano concerto Op 55 in G played by Denis Matthews and the BBC SO conducted by Sir Malcolm Sargent. I have no idea who it's by - Berkeley or Rubbra, or someone else. I can probably track it with more effort, but it's poor that the tracks don't identify the composer as a minimum. The same applies to many of the other tracks in that collection, as presented in Apple Music. One clue is that the particular movement also has a name "Corymbus".

A bit more of tedious "binging" suggests Rubbra - http://www.prestoclassical.co.uk/w/1...rto-in-G-Op-55

There also does not seem to be an easy way to let others know about any particular track or album - maybe there is, but I've not found it yet. In Spotify it's possible to save and share both album links and track links.

There's the options via the "three dots", to which you refer: I haven't tried doing it, so don't know how easy it is. I have found that Spotify can also be picky around search terms.

Ah - the 'three dots' seems to mean different things in different places. It means different things in the menu at the top, and in the playlists.

Here is one outcome - https://itun.es/gb/H4xoP from the search for "Reginald Goodall" and should link to Parsifal.

(using 3 dots in the Playlist)

Here is another - https://itun.es/gb/IJrsP which might be Rubbra's piano concerto.

The links go back to iTunes - so show downloads from the iTunes store, rather than links which can be streamed - which is how Spotify works.
