Perhaps I should've gone for streaming before as I'm sure I have numerous CDs that I will only ever play 3/4 times and a streamed listen or two would've sufficed. Oh well, you live 'n' learn!

This might come as a bit of a shock to you, but I typed "davis mahler 8" in the search box (mad innit!?).
And it's tracks 157-178 in the RCA Davis box set.
Brilliant, eh?

Then MrGG will post some utterly pointless and irrelevant YouTube link.
On a positive note, you are safe to sign-up to the £9.99 (I had the same reservations as you did) and once you have gone through everything simply go straightway into your settings > subscriptions > manage and delete Auto-Renewal. You will still get your free trial.
Now listening to Jimmy Smith - "Cool Blues", after a few other tests (Dave Brubeck, Skalkottas - Double Bass Concerto).
I've not got an opinion yet about the comparison with Spotify, nor have I explored the search fully. I do think the opening pages are a bit useless with those circles to click on. I tried to persuade it I liked Jazz a bit, and also Classical - but it didn't figure that out at all well, and gave me Jazz. Not a very good recommendation service so far, but maybe it's dynamic and will learn as I go.

A quick and dirty search on Apple Music, shows that all 7 albums that Manu Delago has released between 2006 - 2015 plus the album with Christoph Pepe Auer in 2010 are available for streaming (the one with the LSO Strings didn't come up).
Searching for 'Hang Drum' produced 114 albums.
The 2 Dante Bucci albums (I don't think that there are more than 2) are available - 'Kinaesthesia' and 'Reminiscence', plus two other collaborations, 'Songkeeper' with Stephen Cumberworth and the 'Psychic Projections' album.
I haven't looked on Spotify (and don't think I need to, given the huge results produced by Apple Music).
Originally posted by Dave2002 View PostTry searches for "hang drum", "Manu Delago" and "Dante Bucci" too, and see what comes up.
However the same search terms seem to get more on Spotify.
(Relevant to OG's post on another thread.)

Re Delago I can now see six, plus one which is apparently an EP. There is a presentation issue. If the iTunes window is narrower then fewer albums are displayed - they don't overflow down to the next row, which partly explains the discrepancy.
Re "Hang Drum" the results are slightly different from "hang drum". I can't get anywhere near as many as 114 "albums" - perhaps again it's a presentation issue. With "hang drum" I simply see one or two 'relaxation' albums, plus the Hang Drum Project.
Are you very familiar with all this stuff? Before OG's post this music and the instrument(s) it's played on were completely unknown to me.Last edited by Dave2002; 12-07-15, 12:10.

I've just had another search, using just 'Delago' and even more albums have come up.
What I've learnt in the last couple of days or so in this thread, is that search 'technique' is the determining variable in all of this - Apple Music clearly has an enormous variety of music and it's pretty comprehensive.
Also motivation/application is key. For example, this week I needed a new washing machine, microwave and kettle. I found two kettles to choose from, two microwaves and three washing machines. One of each were bought in the same day. I'm sure there was a wider selection to choose from but I was not sufficiently motivated/applied to the task!
Seek and ye shall find!!!
