    Recording live concerts

I've been asked if I could "help" to record a concert in a church in October. I've not done this kind of thing for many years, and I don't know what problems might arise. Just to make things more tricky, there may be a requirement for video as well.

Does anyone have useful advice (apart from "don't do it"!)?

I think there'll certainly be a choir, and perhaps an orchestra as well. Soloists? I don't know yet.
Announcer? Again - not sure yet.

Some equipment may be available - microphones, plus video recorder. It's not for a commercial application - I think it's "simply" a (private?) recording for members of an amateur choir, and there will hopefully be no issues regarding recording agreements.

I don't know how you will manage without?

    BUT

I would use equipment that I know rather than a random collection of borrowed things.
