You and cloughie are definitely getting there. 'Tis indeed (J-M) Jarre. We just need to fill in the missing details.

(3rd week of June (i.e. 21st) may indeed be related, given M. Jarre's output, although June is not specific to the solution)

Jarre issued albums called Oxygène and Rendez Vous, was married to Charlotte Rampling, had a relationship with Isabelle Adjani... and then along came Gong Li..

Great work LMcD! There is one small half-element left - "chronologically" has a double meaning (of which you have found one...)...

                      Indeed

Is Karlsruhe involved? Or Otto Klemperer? (Derek, his nephew I think, taught Chemistry at Bristol).

'K' is a person. It might also help to think of the number (not the numbers) of symphonies for each composer.

This was my initial thought (which went nowhere). Still baffled

                            Brahms: No. 3
                            Bruckner: Nos. 3, 8 and 9

Great factoid about old Otto's nephew!

Mercifully short but bores me to death. I cannot find peace with that work at all
