Praetorius & Schütz were also born in Thuringia... Or, are we looking for someone more modern like Oskar Sala?

Thanks, Rinck is new to me.
Op 56 Variations for organ on a theme by Corelli. Very enjoyable.

Oh Dear: that might have been me, but I've got a fair few things to do today and tomorrow, so I'm not sure I'd be around to respond even if I did think up a Tippettian (?sp) Fantasia on a theme of Corelli to launch us into D territory.
More than happy for someone else to take over.

Should really be Aunt Daisy, then, for cracking the toughest nut, whereas every single one of my answers was wrong
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I'm struggling a bit, but here goes...

Two venerable Hispanics, almost, D's last & first. One may live by the woods, almost golden, sometimes in the tents of Kedar. The other isn't the tempestuous king of Naples, but often plays with weights.

Can you name two composers and one piece?

Well, Alonso was the tempestuous King of Naples, but it isn't him. Was it a Ferdinand?

No, but it is someone whose surname (no D) is often confused with Alonso's.
