Assaulted my ears last Saturday, with a strange very heavily amplified grunting, coming from the direction of Carrow Road, where he was grunting & groaning live.

I don't think so; what you have missed is #8, methinks.

I thought it was a pun but I put a couple of questions marks as a back-up position.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Seriously, one award I'm pleased to see is that for Melanie Reid MBE, a recent guest on Private Passions

Btw, his many adoring fans here might be interested to know he's on Music Matters in a couple of hours ...

I just wish someone would tell me who Rod the Mod is
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Rod Stewart, Cali! For services to music, charity etc. If any ageing rock star deserves it, he does - saw him once, one of the best live acts I've seen. He says he'll "wear it well".

If he was a Rocker, why "the Mod". Irony? Easy but meaningless rhyming opportunity?

Hmmmm, I think he fell on the Mod side of the fence fashion-wise, but performed rock music?

                                Ye gods!!!

Anyways, I hope they'll knight Julie Tippetts - Lady Julia Driscoll?? - - after all, she was a much better singer in that 1965 Steampacket line-up when being a rock singer mattered.
