By the way, without wishing to sound snobbish another new knight has been honoured: "For services to the Music Industry and to Tourism in Northern Ireland"
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

He did an arrangement of Dives and Lazarus.

Yes - it was the citation I was interested in. It makes one wonder whether there is a degree of waggishness lurking somewhere in the establishment. But maybe not

"Sir" J already has a CBE, so he seems to have become a better composer recently, hence the upgrade.

Yes - St Andrews, having closed their music department, felt it quite right and proper to award a DMus to a certain Mr Zimmerman, who seems to have been overjoyed by the "honour".

[Edit] Sorry, there should have been a photo there with Bob and Sir Kenneth Dover, both of whom looked as though they'd rather be somewhere else- it's easily found via Google.

In 2004. It's used in the Telegraph obit for Sir Kenneth in 2010. Bob's face a picture.

Many thanks, Richard. I saw many of Sir K's obits but missed this one.
