Yes, I am, too. I've read the book twice (enjoyable seaside tosh) and think that the TV adaptation is very good - with the exception of Marc Warren, who is continuing his recent role in "Musketeers". The Gentleman with the thistledown hair in the book is* much more a petulant child; much less obviously sinister (and seven times as creepy) than how he is portrayed on screen.

Yes, I wondered about that. He had been known for "loveable rascals" and the "Musketeers" job showed that he could do other things - but perhaps The Gentleman was a bit too soon after to make the adjustment. Or maybe that's how the director and he decided it should be done - Susanna Clark has co-operated (whatever that means) with the adaptation, so maybe it is my reading of the character that is at odds with the author's intentions.
