Seems to have been a bad day! Ron is no longer Reviewing the Situation. Great actor who could have and should have done more - RIP RM!

Very sorry to hear this news - a formative figure from my childhood (watch your pockets, my dears....). I saw "Oliver!" in the cinema when about the same age as Oliver in the film, and it had a very powerful effect upon the infant Caliban, I think we went to see it a second time as I demanded "more!"...
Unforgettable performance from Moody, the pathos ("when you're old and it's cold, and who cares if you live or you die....") balancing out the evil and the humour .
And I agree, he didn't seem to have a career to match his talent.
RIP
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I'll never forget the roar in the cinema when Moody says "shut up and drink your gin"!!!

I perfected RM's "Cum 'ere" and used on the kids often, when they were young! All in jest of course, but when used outside to address the kids in the supermarket, Football club, ballet school etc, I didn't 'alf get some scorning looks!
