    Save Me From Women....

    ....An unsavoury subject you might think, but hopefully you will see my need....and you will understand that this is just one of those threads that 8O inc Ltd occasionally (Ah ha 2c & 1s) throws in the mix....

    This concerns my Utube title page.....NOW considering that I spend most of my time on Utube watching current affairs/ politics/ history/ films/ art/ science/ music of many sorts (2.5 hours of JS Bach lute music that sort of thing - jass n'that) lots of inspiring stuff............Why then over the last month have I been inudatated with a Utube title page of sometimes 30+% and increases during the evening : of bikini fashion shows/ [a new phenomena on me ] Body tape art fashion shows, 'Hot' female athletes, and Yoga instructors...........have they read my mind - can the alagrithms now read my mind....if my mouse hovers randomly over something but is not clicked - Can that trigger it....

    Thread meant both educationally and hopefully humourously....

    I have the same experience with facebook, where I frequently get 'suggested for you' or 'sponsored' things appear on my feed, oftentimes pictures of scantily clad women, including pictures of the same woman under different names and pages etc.

    Not that I wish to be 'saved' from this as such. But yeah, mild irritation. It's not as bad as some of the other things that have appeared on my feed, like far-right memes.

      Don't know the answer but I'm recently being berated for having an Adblocker which is (suddenly) not tolerated by YouTube. I turn it off as commanded and am bombarded with tiresome adverts. Don't think it's connected with The Monstrous Regiment of Wimmen, though Is YouTube Google? Or Meta? or D Trump?
      It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

            ....Case in point kb....if I typed She Wore a Yellow Ribbon into the box - I fear that I might get Maureen O'Hara but would also get a whole lot more only wearing a yellow ribbon....

              8O: I'm surprised you don't also get "women in your area .... " .... no further comment!

              The war on adblockers is also irritating. I have adblockers for a purpose, and for me it's just tough if a web site doesn't like that.

                The demand to disable Adblockers seems intermittent. I removed all YouTube cookies, and next time was invited to 'sign in' (but didn't have to) and there was nothing about disabling my Adblocker.

                    ....I haven't got any Local Woman coming around by, but just by their just doggedly wearing me down , I do have 3 tonnes of UMove Dog joint supplements in my shed....but no dog....

                      That reminds me of a programme on Ronnie Scott's of many years ago (obviously!) Ronnie is being interviewed by the reporter in the lobby at the club, and the house phone rings. "Excuse me" Ronnie says to the interviewer, then, addressing the caller, "Yes sir, we are open. What time do we open? half past eight, sir. Dress codes in the club? Do you need to wear a suit? No sir, no need to wear a suit. Just a tie, sir. Just put on a tie - nothing else".

                        Do female viewers get young men in budgie smugglers, and other equivalents of the educational material 8thO is receiving , or is it only the female form that is so promoted?

                          I suffer from a less exciting problem. I think it was Hugh Dennis who first flagged it up : you buy a wheelbarrow, and then you are bombarded with advertisements for - wheelbarrows. If there's one thing you don't want to buy when you've bought a wheelbarrow - it's another bluddy wheelbarrow...

                            .....well indeed ooo, one thing I thought about is that I watch a lot of athletics....but the Utube response is almost completely female....female divers, even female American Footballers in bikini type kit....obviously the women athletes wear very skimpy kit [which I don't like] (and quite frankly I'm surprised the women want to wear it)....

                            ....Mandelbrot has a lot to answer for.....or someone like that....It is the fact that it increases in the evening when I am not on the laptop so much....is it trying to lure me in??....
