      It really is.

Trouble is, CD size really doesn't do it justice, needs an L.P .

This is so true. The LP outer sleeve was something special - magnificent pictures on the front - useful reading material on the back.

Alas, I do not know how to post images on this site, despite, I know, helpful stuff is posted by others. But I would offer:

          The Cream, 'Disraeli Gears'
Velvet Underground 'White Heat, White Light'
The Mothers of Invention, 'Fillmore East June 1971'
Canned Heat 'Boogie with Canned Heat'
Alan Bennett et al. 'Beyond the Fringe'
          Frank Zappa ' Chunga's Revenge'
The Doors 'Weird Scenes Inside the Gold Mine'

I usually only do classical stuff, honest.

The Decca Britten War Requiem cover.
            The Beatles White Album.
The 4 Solti Ring box set covers.
But my favourite is the RCA Eine Alpensinfonie (RPO/Kempe). It would make such a good avatar. Look upwards ever so slightly.

Yes, 'The War Requiem' by Britten. I never saw more said with less. Just black and white. I suppose that is what its like when you are about to be blown to shreds. Either its white, or its black.

In complete contrast to BeefO's sun drenched Copacabana scene,I love this frozen Russian White Sea alternative.

Raster-Noton covers are always good IMV

Inbal's truly original old Bruckner LP covers are superb ... and certainly a tad more tasteful than some of Mr GG's offerings! I love glorious mountain scenes as well but they do get get a bit predictable when routinely associated with some composers.

Here are just a few of my favourites ...
